Thank goodness for the beautiful late afternoon weather we’ve been having. The kids have had waterplay three times this week!

love all your pictures! Do you mind sharing some basic tricks? What’s the basic changes you’d usually do to your pictures? e.g: contrast/brightness/color balance?

I do a very high key RAW to JPG conversion and then tweak the midtones/highlights/shadows with dodge and burn (hand-painted) to my satisfaction. No single standard tweak because it depends on each pic/exposure.

Sometimes with some layermasks, blurring, most of the time I try practising effects like Dragan or Orton and developing my own.

    Hope that helps.

Jazz – sometimes the girls need to bribe lol but Rae often likes to be photographed unless she’s “busy”.

Focus wise – depends on what I’m shooting – macro or instances where the subjects are still (portraits of adults – children cannot coz theyre impatient – etc) shots I do manual but action shots like these u need to be quick so auto.

Settings wise – all manual. Sometimes I use aperture priority when I’m weaving through light/dark places but if it’s again, all the same place, manual settings.
