This is why Malaysia sucks

Reading news like this tears me apart.
What gives a government the right to take away a man’s family on account of religion?
I am heartbroken.

please, does sucky government policy make the whole nation sucky? some perspective please. some people whinge, others attempt to help to make a difference.
Running off to ‘greener pastures” is one thing. Throwing stones at your own homeland form that pasture is quite something else. Perfection? Nope. We shape our own reality.

wooo sure hit a nerve there. U must be new.
So when one moves away, one gives up the right to criticise one’s country? I am still a Malaysian, madam, just like you. I have as much right as you to ‘throw stones’.
Like it or not, government policy represents the people’s policy, for now and for the future. If this is happening here or anywhere in the world, I would feel the same way.
And unless you’re making that difference you say people should be making, at home, do not presume that I am not, all the way out here.

I don’t agree with claire, but guess she is entitled to her own opinions.
Jenn, I’m not sure if you saw the article submitted by Sisters in Islam “Be Guided by Compassion and Wisdom” that was published in The Star on 10 May 07. Everyone knows religion is a sensitive issue to talk on, but to see this article coming from a Muslim was just so overwhelming.
