Voices into words

March 22nd, 2007 by jennemede

How would you describe the voice of a famous celebrity?

Sean Connery: Like biting on crisp, brittle ice.

Bob Dylan: Like wooden chairs scraping across a dusty floor

Mae West: Like Daisy Duck chewing beef jerky

Odetta: An old roadster going over smooth concrete

Check out NPR’s latest competition series called Vocal Impressions: Hearing Voices, where you are given a voice clip of a famous person, and you’re asked to describe it in poetic terms.

These were my entries.

What are yours?
