Big Needle Day

Today’s my biopsy.

The last week has been hell just waiting for today.

Didn’t even know I was this nervous.

What’s fantastic is I have to wait a week for the results.

Facking awesome!

In the meantime, I want to highlight Malaysian journo Susan Loone’s blog entry about MAS firing an employee because she got pregnant again.

Lagi facking awesome!

Thanks for the link about MAS.

News like this definitely take away the homesickness blues. Gosh… fired for being pregnant… hello, if no one has told MAS yet, pregnancy is required to replenish the labour force (not to mention the joy children brings, but what do bonehead capitalists know about joy)… in the Yew’s case, they could have supplied another 3 potential flight attendants.

    sigh… so sad… I hope the Yew’s win.

thinking of you with firm positive thought!

Its not good to get fired from being pregnant no. however I think the contract does stipulate only allowed 2 pregnancies or something.. (which is kinda archaic but Im curious to know what their reasons are).. if she signed the contract, being fully aware of this… then.. (forgive my slight cynicism also lah)..

anyway, hope this case is resolved!

Wish there was more to be done reg: paternity leave and maternity benefits. sigh.

The case? Well its occupying most of our time.
But lets talk about you. Our prayers are with you.
God deals us all with different hands, when we can touch each others lives when it crosses. That will make him happy.
GOd bless, and please keep us updated.

As for the case? Oh, someone mentioned contract. The offer of employment is not a contract. The collective agreement is a terms & conditions that are agreed between the employers and the union.
Unfortunately, of one cares to look at the CA,(in coft copy from the blog) it also clearly states that Malaysian law supercedes the agreement if it is deemed to be sub standard from the law, as in this case, but simply, this is overlooked. Why? because Audra is deemed to have contravened the agreement! So which comes first, the chicken or the egg?

Sorry for the space taken. Again, god bless.

    Hi all

thanks for the well wishes. I’m good. Side where the needle went through was sore and shoulder hurt like a bitch all night (something about diaphram being affected by the procedure, which is common). Good news is I get results in three days. Wish me luck.

I think if Malaysia had laws against discrimination such contracts would not stand in court. So this could be a potentially important case if given the chance to go federal.

Not that Malaysia is a great adherer to UN advice but look:
