Thanks but no thanks!
Hail, plebes! Well, the day has arrived. My first ever Thanksgiving Day dinner, and boy, do I have a menu all planned out for you.
For starters, we will have barely-cooked shrimp on month-old crackers and moldy cheese.
And our main course will be Herb-Butter Burnt Turkey with Cranberry Sauce, fresh out of a can, accompanied by Mash from a box and powdered gravy, E.coli-suspect Spinach Salad and crumbly Corn Muffins.
The saving grace will be humpie pumpkin pie, served by our first Thanksgiving guests, Sharon and Ross!
That was my very nightmare last night.
In other news, been very quiet on the blog front thanks to the whole Thanksgiving thing, and I’ve actually aborted Nanowrimo (sorry, Sharon, but I really did not like where the story was going - why do all my novels get trashy? Hmm…) and given birth to a new short story I’m going to submit for the second Dark City compilation. Might as well use my very limited time and resources for something shorter that MIGHT get published. I’m beginning to realise I’m more a short story writer. Or more an aborted story writer for now.
Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving, all.
