We spent the weekend packing for our move.

After two long days of boxing and taping and dusting and throwing crap away, and then deciding last minute to keep said crap, I sat down for a pleasant evening of blogging, reading blogs and checking on my various presences around the Net.

One of my old ’social networks’ - the first one I signed up for actually - is Friendster. I forgot all about it until I got pinged because someone had added me. And in there, I found 53 inbox messages, just for me. Wow!

Most of the messages were just spam. Some were hellos from old friends.

And then I found this. A nice little note from a 25-year old Malaysian male named ‘hell’:

hi…my name is hell…!!! just wish to be ur close friend!!! im looking for sum gilr like to having sex….i hear many of my fren say …there was alot of girl hunting and hungry for sex…but duno its true or not…jenifer..do u hungry or having strong sex desire?? im just normal guy and just 25 age…im a shy guy in reality….i wish to having sex always…but cant get a girl…coz mayb i too shy…!! plz dun angry i ask u tis…just wan to tell wat i think…coz tis world got alot kind of ppl….!!! jenifer…could u teach me sex???could i have sex with u??? u look nice and sexy!!!

Well Mr ‘hell’, first of all, I am so very flattered. And you sure brought my weekend to an interesting finish, because there is very little in the world funnier than a tasteless proposition delivered in bad English.

I remember having endured many such incidents, verbally, during MY heyday (“Hey miss, want to be friend?!”). Imagine being bulldozed by an Ah Beng in a tight, fish-net shirt, with severe bad breath. If you’re a stickler like me, you’ll understand the struggle I faced, choosing between saving my breath and running for cover, and standing there loudly correct his English. ExCRUciating.

And seriously, where are there a lot of girls ‘hunting and hungry for sex’? Inquiring minds want to know.
