Digging through some boxes while preparing to move for the second time in less than a year, I found a CD full of old pictures.

Here are some memories, frozen in bytes, of some of the most important moments and people in my life:

My parents. My dad, who hardly ever wants to take a picture. My mom, taking on her ‘cool’ stance because she too dislikes being photographed. This picture was taken at the famous limestone caves in Ipoh, Perak. This was the time Lokes went to ‘officially’ ask my folks for my hand in marriage.

I miss my folks tremendously.

My in-laws. My Lou Yeh and Lai Lai taught me the importance of respect for each other and for their children. That, I believe, is their secret to a successful marriage.

My best girl pal Hazel. Remember where we took this, babe? It was our getaway at A Famosa! BFF, I miss you and Ah Dar and Ian boy loads.

My childhood pals Yuet Khuan, Lilian and Wai Shin. Yuet Khuan, I hope you have a grand old time at your wedding. Lilian, you visit me ASAP! Shin, hope you are doing well in Beijing. We took this when we went paintballing at Bukit Tinggi in the fake-ass ‘French’ village. I was three months pregnant with Raeven.

My baby sis, Eunice. I love you so much, sor por. This was when she came back in 1999, I think. Don’t we look alike? Try not to notice how depressingly thin I was!

The day we legally became husband and wife. Doesn’t Lokes look dashing with his messy, grungy hair? You sexy thang. That shirt he’s wearing has seen so many functions it’s been his official ‘wedding’ shirt. I have to go dig it out…

Big Day #03: Rae’s little sister, Skyler, who arrived so suddenly mommy and daddy were totally caught offguard. Bless you, my darling daughter.

And finally, our last day in Malaysia before we came to the US. My friends came to send us off. Sandy, Yu Fen, Lilian, Jo. I miss you guys (although Jo is now only a state away, so yay!).
