Being married to a Malaysian, I totally relate to most if not all of the above. Fortunately I'm spared Manglish, except when the in-laws are here. It was really hard trying to "correct" them so that they would use the proper words (for us Americans), and not infuse our kids with "weird" terms. I didn't want people to cock their heads, or worse, make fun of him, when Seb say things like "rubbish." Oh, don't forget the "lah" among others. Did I ever mention I'm kinda anal? How about this one my hubby learned while he was in TX: "Yea I'm fixin' to [leave]." When I first heard it, I asked him "what are you fixing???" This made me laugh so hard!
