Full week ahead

August 28th, 2006 by jennemede

So this week is jam-packed with stuff. Trust us to be last minute with summer.

We had the lovely Karli and her two little gems come visit us this morning. Karli’s older daughter Babs goes to school with Rae so we’re going to be doing a younger sibling exchange thingy while attending to our commitments at the preschool, and so we have to get the girls used to seeing a lot more of us moms when the term starts.

Must say I’m a little nervous babysitting someone else’s kid. I’ve only done it twice back home in Malaysia, and by ‘babysitting’ I mean sitting in the hall watching TV while the babies sleep. This time, I’m actually going to be dealing with two two-year olds BY MYSELF!! God help me.

Tomorrow my Taiwanese friend Mia has invited us for a cake-tasting ‘event’ at her house! What on earth is a cake-tasting ‘event’? It sounds like we’re all going to be surrounded by cake and trying our best to out-taste each other, in which case I’m definitely going to lose as my diet and exercise regiment will not allow for serious participation. But we are promised loads of kids for Rae and Sky to play with. Maybe that will help burn off some cals.

The highlight of our week is our mini cruise this weekend to - wait for it - WATCH WHALES!!!

Yes! I am so goddamn excited, I’ve never EVER seen a live whale before. EVER.

It’s called Island Adventures Cruises at a place called Anarcortes about two hours away from Redmond. Check out the site. We’re gonna take the Island Explorer II cruise so as not to accidentally drop our kids in the water or anything. My friend from Malaysia who’s living here in Seattle as well, the beautiful Sharon, was the recommender.

Thanks girl!

Two boat rides in two weeks. Woohoo! Are we livin’ on the edge or what?!

Ps. I totally forgot about the Moms’ Night Out tomorrow! A few of us preschool moms are going to an outdoor movie at Marymoor Park. They’re showing Napolean Dynamite. Heard it’s good. First time for me watching a movie outdoors as well. We have them in Malaysia but we also have mosquitoes, so we never really tried it. Can’t wait!
