Goodbye is the hardest word
After four good years writing for MSN Women Malaysia, I will finally be saying farewell to my column today.
Yes, I am moving on, hopefully to better things.
521 stories, about 2,000 emails and a little over four years - that’s how long I’ve been jotting away there. How quickly time has passed by.
Before I started the column proper (I was actually editing a website that used to showcase its articles here, called againsthegrain.com, now defunct), I wasn’t even married. I led a single life filled with the ordinary, doing things every single person my each did.
Today, I have a toddler, a baby and a husband, and am doing all the extraordinary things every parent today is doing.
I have enjoyed sharing with my readers there, both the pains and delights of living life as a single gal,
a wife and now a mother.
I am thankful for all the letters I have received throughout these four years, for not only have they kept my column going, but have also afforded me insight into some very private facets through the many layers of our society, particularly when it comes to being an Asian woman in today’s world.
For spillovers who are visiting this blog, I will be writing at Sunblogs @ www.sun2surf.com, my new home (the online equivalent of The Sun newspaper), starting next month.
Do visit me there as I will be writing every week about more of the same: women and relationships.
I will miss my place at MSN Women. It was warm and cosy, and after four years, become a favourite couch from which I’d pondered many seemingly insignificant things that had turned out to be quite important.
Perhaps the couch will miss me as well.
To my readers at MSN Women, you guys have been great. Thank you once again and stay safe.
