An important milestone
My daughter Raeven began pre-school yesterday. As we led her to her class teacher, the first time we’ve ever left her with a stranger, I could not help feeling a little sad, that my baby girl is growing up so fast.
Seemed like just yesterday she’d learnt to say “Mommy”. And we watched as she took her first steps.
Distracted with all the colours and kids, Raeven went off with Ms Lee with nary a peep. And just as predicted, instead, Lokes and I had tears welling up in our eyes.
Our baby does not need us anymore.
I felt almost relieved when she cried for me 20 minutes later.
This is where all the midnight feeds and agonising tantrums and missing out on the social life becomes worth it.
