One smooth journey per year
Today, the husband and I took our little girl to Bangsar Shopping Complex for some grocery shopping. Two miracles happened on the way there: there was no jam on Jln Maarof and although we had to queue a while to get parking, we got one really sweet spot right outside the main lifts (as opposed to the teeny ones which go up only to the ground floor). Since Lokes was allergic to traffic jams and queueing (his reaction is lycanthropic - look it up), this was surely a good day, if not the best day of this sort, for me.
Two hours and RM200 later, on the way out, a thought occured to me. Now I may seem cruel, for Lokes was in the best of spirits. In fact, I’d never seen him so happy. When I asked him why, he replied, “We had the BEST parking spot in the world today, plus the roads are as they should be!”
I almost expected him to do a jig right there in our car.
It was then I decided to spring my thought on him.
“Happy New Year, baby. I think you just used up your One Smooth Journey per year credit,” I said.smirking.
For a moment, he was lost. And then he looked at me like I was the most sadistic person in the world.
“Yup, you have to wait another whole year to get this lucky again, so you may as well find a way to make the most of it,” and then I gave him my most nefarious-sounding MUAHAHAHA.
Who needs quality time when you have moments like these? ![]()
